book tag, book questions, book recommendations, books to read, books to get, good books, book blog, book blogger,

Hi everyone! There are a few book tags that I have been wanting to do, so here is the Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag!

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2018:
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder, an amazing read and I ended up reading the trilogy really quickly altogether!

2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2018:
I haven’t actually read very many sequels this year but I did enjoy Death Note Black Edition Volume 4, it made me want to read the next book straight away which is always a good sign!

3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to:
It’s not actually out yet but I really want to read Vengeful by V. E. Schwab, the sequel to Vicious. Vicious left on an interesting

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year:
The same answer as above.

5. Biggest disappointment:
Bookish Boyfriends. The concept was really interesting but I didn’t like how it was written.

6. Biggest surprise:
I was actually surprised with how much I have enjoyed contemporary romances, including The Dating Debate and The Rules of Rebellion.

7. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you):
Maria V. Snyder.

8. Newest fictional crush:
Valek from Poison Study.

9. Newest favourite character:
Same as above.

10. Book that made you cry:
I don’t think I have cried to any books this year but I’m not sure.

11. Book that made you happy:
The Dating Debate.

12. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year (or received):
The Surface Breaks.

13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
All of them! Basically as many books on my TBR as I can.

I tag anyone who would like to do this and please link me to your answers!

  1. I recently bought "The Surface Breaks" and it`s such a stunning book. I also like the fact that it`s a darker retelling, not the Disney fluff.

Rapid Fire Book Tag

This is a book tag created by Kate from GirlReading (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-46EzDWdSY). There are a series of book related questions to answer so let’s go:
Q: E-Book or Physical Book?  A: E-book, I know this is a controversial answer but I love my kindle so much! It is light to hold, keeps my page open and tells me an estimate of how much longer I have left in the book which helps motivate me to keep reading.
Q: Paperback or Hardback?  A: I don’t really have a preference!
Q: Online or In-Store Book Shopping?  A: I love shopping in a book store. Being surrounded by books is one of my favourite places. I can look at all of the different books available and choose whichever is available at the time. I often find books that I wasn’t originally planning on buying!
Q: Trilogies or Series? A: I love series because then there are more books to read, as long as the books still continue to be great and there is enough story to last across more books.
Q: Heroes or Villains? A: Heroes but I do l…

Book Buddy Read with Eleanor May

I have wanted to buddy read with someone for a while. Buddy reading is where you and someone else read the same book around the same time and discuss it. However, I didn’t really have anyone who had the same reading tastes as me. I have become good friends with Eleanor from http://www.eleaanormay.com/ and we decided to buddy read!
I am so excited to read a book with her and if any of you want to join in please feel free to. The book we are reading is: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare!
Neither of us have read the Mortal Instruments series before and it is such a popular series. From what I know of this series, it follows teenagers who hunt demons. I was accidentally spoiled with one plot point that occurs later in the story but I am hoping it won’t affect my reading of this book very much. I am really looking forward to discovering this series with a friend.
Have any of you ever done a buddy read?
You can buy City of Bones here: Amazon UK, Audible UK, Amazon US, Audible US, Book Depositor…

Five Things I Learnt From My Internet Detox

I just finished doing 48 hours without internet in aid of Cancer Research UK. Here are the things that I learnt during this time.

1.It is ok to use the internet sometimes

I often feel bad that I use the internet as much as I do. I think that I should be doing other things instead. However, I have realised that it is ok to use the internet. It is ok to spend time on social media, post things and talk to others, as long as you are not spending too long on there or spending time on social media or accounts that make you feel bad about yourself.

2.Without internet you can relive some good old times
Not having access to internet 24/7 reminded me of when I was younger and we literally did not have access to internet 24/7. We had to spend our time in other ways. The one activity that I spent most of my time doing was playing video games. I used to love spending time playing the same game over and over again and a lot of the games I never even completed because they were too difficult for me bu…
