Jack of Thorns

Laurence Riley might be able to see the future, but he can't see a way to fix his messed-up life. He can't control anything—not his supernatural talents, not his drug addiction, and not his violent ex-boyfriend. Laurence needs help and he knows it. A lifelong pagan, he turns to his god... and he gets Jack. Jack can help Laurence tame his powers and take control of his life. But it comes at a price: Laurence will need to keep him fed with regular offerings of sex. For the old Laurence, that would've been a pleasure. Problem is, Laurence has met Quentin.

Quentin is devastatingly handsome, way out of Laurence's league (like British nobility levels of out-of-his-league), and unbearably chaste. If that weren’t enough to keep Laurence away, Quentin's wild telekinesis is even more uncontrollable than Laurence's precognition. But Laurence doesn't want anyone else, and Jack is getting hungry.

Then Laurence foresees a glimpse of Jack's true plan. It will leave a trail of death across San Diego--and Laurence has been helping him do it. The past has taught him that the future can't be changed. But if Laurence and Quentin can't stop Jack, there won't be any future at all.

Jack of Thorns is the first book in a dark urban fantasy series where X-Men meets The Magicians.

Some men are forged in fire.

Quentin d’Arcy may have survived a showdown with a god, but now he faces something far more terrifying: falling in love. And the secret he’s hiding from Laurence could burn them both.

Kane Wilson says he wants to make a better world—one in which psychics are out and proud without fear of reprisal or hatred—but there’s a trail of bodies buried in his past. Kane’s power is his words. When he commands, everyone obeys. They have no choice.

Everyone except Quentin. As the only person in San Diego immune to Kane’s mind-control, he is the psychic community’s last line of defense against Wilson’s murderous schemes.

The fire has been foreseen.

Quentin’s survival hasn’t.

Hunter and prey. Which is which?

Laurence Riley believed that he was nothing. He couldn’t have been further from the truth. Descended from Herne the Hunter, his own need to seek prey has long gone unfulfilled. Now it’s out of control.

Something ancient is coming to take Quentin home: a creature of nightmare who feasts on the flesh of children. But Laurence has seen the real monster. The one who is pulling all their strings from afar.

Only Herne can prepare Laurence to face an evil which far outmatches him. Their enemy wields the most powerful weapon of all, and will destroy everyone Laurence loves unless he can master the same power.

He must learn magic.

Truth is a matter of perspective.

Frederick d’Arcy is determined to unearth the truth behind his mother’s untimely death, but the only witness is a man whose mind Frederick cannot read: his twin brother, Quentin. And Quentin is up to his neck in trouble half a world away.

That trouble’s name is Kane Wilson. As Wilson works to out psychics and kill anyone who gets in his way, Frederick enters into a deadly game of cat and mouse. He must outwit, outthink, and outmanipulate Wilson without revealing the extent of his own powers, or the vengeance he seeks could be snatched from his grasp.

This isn’t the Knight of Flames you remember.

There’s nowhere left to run.

Quentin d’Arcy has escaped his father’s clutches for six years, but the life he has built in San Diego is about to come crashing down. The skeletons in his closet won’t stay hidden.

The Duke of Oxford’s pawns are all in place. One move triggers a catastrophic chain of events: Freddy kidnaps Laurence, and Quentin is thrust into a race against time to save both his lover’s sanity and his own.

Every family has secrets, but the d’Arcy line is built on them.

Nothing will ever be the same again.

Let the Wild Hunt begin!

Tortured. Broken. Laurence and Quentin need time to heal. A layover in New York offers just that, but then Quentin vanishes in the worst blizzard the city has ever seen, and all Laurence’s Hunter gifts aren’t enough to track him down.

Two gods have warred for centuries. One is trapped in Manhattan, and needs Laurence’s aid if he’s to continue his vendetta. The other is confined to Annwn, the Land of the Dead. He needs Quentin’s help if he’s to win once and for all.

Unlike gods they’ve encountered before, these ones aren’t frail. Not even close. But there really can be only one, and Laurence must fight to save Quentin before they both get trampled into dust.

He can’t do it alone.

We all fall down.

When Quentin is accosted by YouTube ghost-hunters with a crackpot theory about his mother, he writes it off as nonsense — until they kidnap him right off the street in broad daylight. Not even his psychokinesis can save him, but Laurence will. He must.

Except Laurence can't find Quentin. His powers have never failed him like this before. There's only one hope left: a stranger called Angela is willing to teach him more magic than he currently knows. Normally he'd write her off as bad news, but Quentin is running out of time, and Laurence is all out of options.

He has less than 48 hours to save Quentin's life, and no price is too high.

The clock is ticking.

Release Date: May 27th 2022

Learning magic doesn’t come cheap, and the bill is long overdue.

Rufus needs his student’s help to solve his parents' murder, and after a year of tuition, Laurence has run out of excuses to put off witnessing the gruesome secrets buried in the past. But his vision only raises more questions. The mystery isn’t how they died, but how Rufus survived.

The only clue is a teddy bear nobody remembers, and it holds magic powerful enough to hospitalize Freddy, entangle a god, and hide a murderer.

Maybe some secrets are better left buried.

Murder Tales: The Yorkshire Ripper

Between 1975 and 1981, one man brought a reign of terror to the north of England. His crimes brought entire cities to a standstill as women became too scared to leave their houses after dark. The thirteen slain women led to the United Kingdom’s largest-ever murder enquiry, with tens of thousands of people interviewed and hundreds of leads followed. It was an investigation led astray by a cruel hoax and devastating coincidences which would not be believed if they happened in a work of fiction. The crimes left over a dozen children motherless, led to family members dying of broken hearts, and destroyed the health and hastened the death of the chief investigator.                                                                                                                                                                                                             In this edition of Murder Tales, H. N. Lloyd examines the life and crimes of the man the media dubbed The Yorkshire Ripper, but who his wife and family called Peter Sutcliffe.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Free on Kindle Unlimited

Murder Tales: They Got Away With Murder

We've all heard the phrase, 'he/she gets away with murder', but just how true is this phrase in the real world? In this latest volume of Murder Tales, H. N. Lloyd looks at seven cases, where the killers literally did get away with murder, and explains how we can now be sure as to just who the guilty party really was.

Among the true tales of murder featured in this volume are:

Maundy Gregory: The story of a man who was at the centre of a political web of intrigue involving power and money. Maundy Gregory became one of the most powerful men in Great Britain, yet his power and influence remained secret, hidden from all but a select few at the highest echelons of governance. When his empire was threatened, he turned to murder to save himself and his fortune. Like most powerful people, he got away with it too.

Tony Mancini: The Brighton Trunk murders were, at one time, the most famous murders in the annals of crime. Tony Mancini was the young thug accused and tried for one of these infamous crimes. Yet his acquittal led to one of the most shocking and defiant confessions ever seen.

Henry John Delve Broughton: When peer of the realm, Lord Erroll, was shot dead on a deserted country road, in the middle of Kenya, during the early years of World War Two, it led to accusations of political assassination, sordid love triangles, orgies and drug abuse. It was a mystery that intrigued for decades, until a confession came to light from a very unlikely source.

Harvey Richardson: The tale of how a photograph led to a murder, and how the failure of the victims friends to tell the whole truth led to a near half century long mystery, and how a confession found in an abandoned house led to a shocking final answer.

Christopher Smith: Be sure your sins will find you out in time, nearly forty years after a brutal murder, that helped to nearly derail the infamous Yorkshire Ripper Inquiry, the killer of a badly battered and raped prostitute was unmasked thanks to his having one too many drinks.

Complete revised, re-edited and updated this new edition of Murder Tales: They Got Away With Murder contains brand new material and is sure to enthral, horrify and confound in equal measure. Written as usual with an eye for the macabre detail and a delightfully dry wit, it is another fine entry into the Murder Tales cannon.

Murder Tales: Stranger Than Fiction

Why was an illiterate man found murdered with an undecipherable coded message in his pocket? Why have the British government decided that the details of a fourteen-year-old girls murder must be kept secret for over a century? What links a murdered movie star, the CIA, the King of Jordan, and the King of the B Movies?

In Murder Tales: Stranger Than Fiction, H. N. Lloyd investigates crimes with an element of the bizarre, the unexplained, and the damn right weird. In this latest collection of true crime tales from the best-selling author and crime historian, you will find eleven murders that will send a shiver down your spine, and make you believe you’re reading a work of fiction, not fact. In this volume the cases include:
Elsie Frost: A young girl murdered on an isolated tow-path, a mystery that has lasted fifty years. Although the police claim that they believe the case is solved, H. N. Lloyd looks at the evidence of a conspiracy that continues to this day.

Scott Rogo: The murder of one of the world’s leading parapsychologists that has left one of the world’s most peculiar murder mysteries.

Charles C. Morgan: Hero or villain? The police insisted it was a suicide, a mysterious anonymous caller wanted the world to believe otherwise. Morgan’s death led to the discovery of mysterious messages written on bank notes, clues hidden in biblical passages, and a trail of murder as someone desperately tried to cover up the truth.

Each case will leave you haunted and questioning how real life can be so strange.

Murder Tales: Unsolved: The chilling true stories of the world's greatest unsolved murders

Murder, it fascinates and horrifies, when a murder remains unsolved that fascination and horror can quite easily turn to obsession. In Murder Tales: Unsolved the new doyen of true crime, H. N. Lloyd, examines fifteen of the world’s greatest murder mysteries, including:

Jack the Ripper: Without a doubt the world’s most famous murder mystery, in this re-examination of the case H. N. Lloyd looks at the crimes, suspects and some of the stranger explanations for the world famous murders.

Nellie Clarke: The murder of a child is the most tragic thing in the world, when the killer is not brought to justice it can destroy entire communities. This little known case will horrify, chill and intrigue, especially Nellie’s last recorded words, ‘Help! Father Christmas is after me!’

Julia Wallace: Pity poor William Herbert Wallace, lured from his home on a wild goose chase across the city of Liverpool, only to return home to discover his wife murdered and the blame levelled squarely at him. This is the crime that Raymond Chandler ranked as the greatest murder mystery in the annals of criminal history.

Charles Walton: The murder of an elderly farmhand in a sleepy English village that baffled the minds of the best detectives the famed Scotland Yard had to offer. Were the rumours of witchcraft and human sacrifice true? And just what was the significance of the worthless fob-watch stolen from Charles Walton’s body, and the spectral black dog that haunted the investigating officers.

Marilyn Sheppard: The true life crime that inspired the film and TV series ‘The Fugitive’. Dr Sam Sheppard found himself accused of murdering his wife, this in turn set two generations of the Sheppard family on a quest to discover the identity of the ‘limping man’.

Zodiac: The murder of five young people that shocked America, shot and stabbed in cold blood by a masked killer. The killer taunted the police and the press, created a media storm and pushed a city to hysterical levels of anxiety. He was never caught, leaving behind a trail of shattered lives, scarred survivors and an enduring mystery.

Professor John Cartland: A father and son’s holiday in France ends in a brutal axe murder. Jeremy Cartland is accused by French authorities of murdering his father. British police investigate and exonerate him. Not only did this case put two legal systems at loggerheads, it led to the seemingly unassuming language professor’s unmasking as a spy. Was Professor Cartland the victim of a bungled robbery, murdered by his son, or was he the victim of a sinister conspiracy the origins of which lay in the darkest days of World War Two?

Written with dry wit and an eye for detail which brings a fresh perspective to even the most talked-about cases, Murder Tales: Unsolved is the perfect read for seasoned true-crime aficionados, or those wanting to be captivated, thrilled and horrified for the first time.

Dusty Roberts

Bio: I was born in Brooklyn and spent my summers in Mastic Beach Long Island, when it was still paradise, and the bungalows were only occupied during the summer months. I earned my college degree in Classical Literature with a minor in Art History. Right after graduation, I decided I wanted to see the world, so I joined the Marine Corps.

It is important to note, the day I joined the Marines, I had written the first 60 pages of the book you just read. Why didn’t I finish it then? I felt that I didn’t have enough real-world experience to write anything significant; who would want to listen to me? So, I followed my other dream to be a military pilot.

I graduated from Marine Corps OCS and then Naval Flight School. My first duty station was in Tustin, California, and from there I deployed to Okinawa, Japan, and Korea. I flew the DMZ in Korea while I was deployed there. When I wasn’t based on land, I was flying off a Navy ship. I loved it all. I had the most excellent adventure that a young man could have. After 10 years, I decided to get out and make my millions. Then one day, many years after, I wrote the first 60 pages of this book, I sat down on my deck, lit-up a fine cigar, and finished the draft in two months. Several years later, many edits later, I finally published it. The sequel is on its way. I also have several short stories published on Kindle Vella. My only hope is that I was successful in entertaining you. I hope you have enjoyed Echoes From Another World.

Once upon a time, inhabitants of another world tore a hole through the universe and came to Earth. They called themselves Suriias, and rivalled humans in knowledge and skill with one great exception: they had magic.

War followed. Humanity lost. And three hundred years later, humans are on the brink of extinction.

Orphans Thorn and Thistle live in hiding. They are the last of their families, the last of their friends. They scrape by, stealing to survive and living on the streets or hiding in sheds. But even under the brutal regime of the Suriias, there are places where humans can mingle in secret with magical sympathisers, and one night Thistle gets an unexpected offer of marriage from a Suriia with high standing and friends in all the right places. For Thistle, it’s a chance at safety and comfort; for Thorn, it’s a chance to find the ones who killed her parents.

And so the pair move into the capital city of Courtenz. An urban monstrosity of magic and might, false friends and flying cars, drones and death tolls, the new city promises a fresh start – and new love – for both.

But if there’s one thing Thorn knows for certain, it’s that dreams can swiftly turn into nightmares.

Some witches curse, others are cursed. And sometimes, the cursed want revenge.

A Touch of Death (The Outlands Pentalogy Book 1)

A thousand years in the future, the last of humanity live inside the walls of the totalitarian Kingdom of Cutta. The rich live in Anais, the capital city of Cutta, sheltered from the famine and disease which ravage the rest of the Kingdom. Yet riches and power only go so far, and even Anaitians can be executed. It is only by the will of the King that Nate Anteros, son of the King’s favourite, is spared from the gallows after openly dissenting. But when he’s released from prison, Nate disappears.

A stark contrast, Catherine Taenia has spent her entire life comfortable and content. The daughter of the King’s Hangman and in love with Thom, Nate’s younger brother, her life has always been easy, ordered and comfortable. That is, where it doesn’t concern Nate. His actions sullied not only his future, but theirs. And unlike Thom, Catherine has never forgiven him.

Two years pass without a word, and then one night Nate returns. But things with Nate are never simple, and when one wrong move turns their lives upside down, the only thing left to do is run where the King’s guards cannot find them – the Outlands. Those wild, untamed lands which stretch around the great walls of the Kingdom, filled with mutants and rabids.

Dust & Lightning

In the near future, humans have gone beyond simple space travel. By the year 4054, multiple solar systems are inhabited, and taking a spaceship is as commonplace as taking an aeroplane.

Unfortunately, not everything about the future is so advanced. The central planets, led by Earth, have risen high at the expense of cheap labour on distant worlds. Dissent is widespread and arrests are common. Sometimes prisoners are released; sometimes they disappear without a trace, sent to labour camps in other solar systems.

When Ames Emerys receives a letter telling him that his brother Callum has died en route to the remote planet of Kilnin, he takes the first ship he can off Earth, desperate for answers. But the secrets Ames uncovers prove far more dangerous than he could have imagined.

And trouble isn’t far behind.

When Eliza Owens gets a phone call in the middle of the night from a girl she’s never met, she doesn’t know what to think. The girl introduces herself as Paige, and says she used to date Erik Stern, Eliza’s fiancé. What’s more, she has something important to discuss.

The only problem? Paige has been dead for years.

Believing it to be a sick prank, Eliza tries to force it from her mind until Sam, Eliza’s older sister, tells her she met Paige only a few weeks before. And, according to Sam, Paige has nothing nice to say about Erik.

The fight which follows shatters the lives of everyone involved, and Erik disappears without a trace.

Five years later, Erik returns to town after his father’s death. Old wounds quickly resurface, and with them several burning questions. None the least of which is: Who spoke to Eliza and Sam if it wasn’t Paige? And why?

Lost amidst creatures of fantasy and legend, she is forced to confront the demons of both her past and future to unravel the riddle of the mysterious boy and embark upon a journey to uncover long forgotten histories and the dark, cloaked figure in the shadows behind them all. Caught between opposing forces of a war she does not understand, Emily must find new strength within herself and, above all, the will to remember her friends.

Haven Divided (The Dragon's Brood Cycle Book 2)

Forever is comprised of nows…
Emily Haven and her friends have been given the seemingly impossible task of uniting the worlds—a mission they failed once before, in another lifetime.
But Emily made a promise, and she intends to keep it. A small boy risked his life to save hers, and while Michael sets out to rejoin the Dragon’s Brood, she heads east with Celine and Corbbmacc to rescue Daniel from a band of desert slavers.
Time does not stand still, however, and the dark legends are true. They deal in blue fire; they deal in death; and they travel through the long nights on autumn winds.
Samhain has come, and this year, the harvest will be in blood, gold, and souls.

Life is hard for Daniel and the other kids who struggle to live on the streets of Ravenhold, a seaside city allied with the sorceress Marianne and the kingdom of Seven Skies. There is seldom enough to eat, and the nights are cold, but Daniel finds warmth and friendship when he meets the enigmatic Harmony. Their special bond, coupled with the mystery of Harmony’s past, sends Daniel from his life on the streets to the wider world beyond in this short story prequel to Haven Lost and the Dragon’s Brood Cycle.

Charles Edward Williams

Walking past the imposing Arch of Titus and down the large and uneven flagstones of the Via Sacra leading to the Forum, the author sensed the unheard voices and the untold tales of the soldiers that gave their lives in honour of the hallowed ground. An abiding interest in the first two centuries CE of the the early Roman Empire led the author to relate a soldier’s tale. Charles Edward Williams lives in Dunedin, a coastal University city in the South Island of New Zealand.

Books:

The Dacian Enigma (Vialegio Book 1)

The sly deceit and deception of the Dacian King unleashes an Emperor's revenge. A soldier learns the wily crafts of war and politics as he rises through the ranks of the legendary Legion of Gemina. Overreaching ambition lays the framework for fissures within the Roman Empire.

The Arc of Dacicus (Vialegio Book 2)

Years of provocation and deception have incited the Emperor Trajan to restore the honour of Rome on the eastern frontiers of the empire.

Shameful memories of past humiliations from broken treaties and the dishonourable losses of Roman legions compel the emperor to subdue the frontier territories and to impose Roman hegemony.
Senior Tribune Cletus, steadily elevated by battlefield actions of bravery and courage through the Legion Gemina ranks, finds his allegiances tested as he climbs the ladder of power during the arc of the expansionary campaign.

D. M. Wright

Born and bred in Adelaide, South Australia, D. M. Wright has been conjuring up an eclectic mix of film-style novels and plays for as long as he can remember. When he first decided to put pen to paper and bring his ideations to life, he made it his mission to create a set of works that would leave even the most avid book adversary struggling to put them down. It all began after joining a sailing programme on the Youth Endeavour. From there, his first adventure story started brewing — and the rest is history.

There are no limits to the depth and breadth of his stories, many of which are derived from the plots of some of the greatest literature in history, as well as from his own life experiences. From tales of a shipwreck where it’s every man for himself, to a date that leaves a woman running with $150 million she never asked for, he adds a distinctive Australian voice to a whole host of internationally renowned reads.

When Wright isn’t navigating the pits of his imagination, you’ll often find him working as a support worker for homeless teens and the elderly. When not working, he’s renovating his house or taking sunny rides on his motorcycle through the picturesque Adelaide Hills.

D. M. Wright is a recipient of the inaugural City of Charles Sturt Arts, Music and Dance Award for his contribution to literature, and was awarded third place for his captivating narrative, St. Patrick's Church - Series Two, in the national Young Australian Christian Writer Awards.

C H Burford

C.H. Burford comes from a long line of terrifying and badass women, from the great-grandmother who’d throw rock at her grandchildren for picking from her garden to her own mother whom C.H. fears to this day.

She owes a fortune in student loans for a master’s degree in history that she uses to argue with K-12 textbooks and History Channel documentaries and not much else… until now. A formally trained historian, archivist, and librarian—Jacksonville State University and the University of Alabama, respectively—her career spans a decade in federal and state agencies, public and academic archives, and private corporations. For the past few years, she’s had the Sisyphean task of both teaching history and humanities part-time at an HBCU in her home state of Alabama and homeschooling her own children.

Half of the award-wining writing duo C.J. Pierce, this is her first nonfiction release under her own name. She lives in Alabama with her husband, two teenagers and a tween with blackholes where their stomachs should be, and a clowder of cats. C.H. swears just as much in real life as she does in her writing.

Book:

Addressing women in history with a unique perspective and a bit of flair!

History textbooks haven’t changed in at least thirty years. Imagine the author's disappointment when she realized her children were learning the same misinformation she did in K-12. Where the f*** were the women who refused to conform? Who refused to live under a man’s boot? The villains? The criminals? Did they not exist?

A handful of badass women are mentioned, usually in passing, in mainstream history books as a sort of appeasement for the feminist crowd—Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, et cetera, et cetera—but the author, a feminist, was not appeased. Or amused.

You won’t recognize many of the names here, if any, but there are some familiar names who merit a more honest accounting than they’ve been given. These are women who broke the law; who committed murder; who stole; who got a bad rap; who defied convention; who were so f***ing fierce in their own time that contemporary historians exaggerated their villainy.

You ought to meet these badass—and sometimes really f***ing scary—b*****s. Some will make you cheer; some will make you laugh; and some will make you mad.

Jill Horton

Jill Horton loves creating magical worlds for children to learn in and explore. She and her husband have four kids who love the adventures found in good books. One dog, two cats, and four parakeets joined the family’s fun and literary travels. Now, Jill is inviting you to pick up one of her books and start your own family’s storytime traditions too!

Kimberly Greer

From narrating school plays to writing melodramatic short stories, Kim Greer has always enjoyed telling stories that entertain and enlighten. As a fiction writer, she imagines thoughtful but flawed characters who engage and enrage readers in her stories that celebrate love, mourn societal discord, examine relationships, and prompt us to take a closer look at ourselves.

Kim’s passion for connecting audiences with a good read has bled into all facets of her life. A journalist by training, she earned her BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and an MS in Journalism from Columbia University.

For nearly three decades, she’s helped corporations, nonprofits, and others tell their stories and build their brands. Kim lives in northern Virginia with her fabulous husband of 26 years, the youngest of their three sons, her 91-year-old father, and their Rottweiler, Oba.

Kimberly's book:

Masked Intent : A Modern-Day Morality Play (The Morality Plays series Book 1)

Very well-written, recommended for anyone who can't get enough details and likes a lengthy read...The plot is quite entertaining with twists at almost every angle that keep the reader on the edge. --Fatima Aladdin, ReedsyDiscovery

Kimberly Greer wrote a story that portrayed the relationship humans often have with the truth when interacting with other people. There was nothing to dislike about this book. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it to people who love an unpolished love story. --Unique Ego, onlinebookclub.org

From being denied by her birth parents to marrying the wrong man, Alexa Winston has learned to cope with disappointment and heartache by masking her true self from the world. Divorced and finally living on her own terms, she shrouds herself in half-truths and bravado, content to live her quiet, predictable life – until she finds the job and the man of her dreams. As she falls deeper into both, and into a world ruled by powerful players jockeying for influence and dominance at all costs, she’s forced to weigh her truths against reality. Trouble is, though she’s a master at detecting self-deception in others, she’s slow to recognize it in herself.

Masked Intent takes a taut, complex look at how we hide behind inauthenticity to guide us through our interpersonal relationships. It’s a timely and relevant story that asks a key question: what does it matter how many followers, likes, and upvotes we have if we no longer recognize the person we see in the mirror?

Masked Intent is the first installment in The Morality Plays Series and ends in a cliffhanger. The story concludes in Intents + Purposes, which publishes in early 2022.

But in the crater that lies in the wake of Manadar, Amanda Devereux stirs, a cybernetic infiltration agent hurled into a world she could never have imagined- a world that has never seen anything like her.

The Flybown Crusade: The third novel of the Thelenic Curriculum

“My hand is open, as is my heart.”The traditional greeting of the people of the Dendaril Hegemony still holds true centuries after their realm was founded. But what was once a warm promise of friendship is now feared by those few who know the true nature of the Dendaril. To the Free Tribes, they are the Fly Lords, bearers of the affliction known only in ancient songs as The Woe. To the Magisters of the Lily College, they are the thralls of the Shrive-Ticks, symbiotic insects that bring health, strength and peace of mind to those they infest at the cost of their entire identity. Now, after a millennium of silence, the Dendaril are moving. To face them in battle unprotected is to become them, and there is nowhere to run. To Magister Thalia Daran, who fears herself responsible, falls the task of enlisting the aid of the Royal Knights of Abelia, whose sealed battle-armour and Golem automata are immune to the parasites. But the Abelians killed her father, and he himself was responsible for the death of the previous king, a fact Queen Tondarin II has not forgotten. Thalia's ally, the dimensionally-shifted Operative Amanda Devereux, searches for hidden secrets that may hinder her as much as they help. Meanwhile, the fiercely independent Free Tribes face a stark choice between allying with a hated enemy, or losing themselves to the Woe forever. And in the Empire of the Thelenic Curriculum, Arch-Chancellor Derelar Thane finds troubling questions about his spy-master that must be answered.Magic and technology, love and hate, the weight of history and the march of progress combine in the third novel of the Thelenic Curriculum, The Flyblown Crusade.

“And for many years the new star shone just like the old one, until one day it started to go yellow, but that is another story.”
Legends of Thelen and the Patrons

It should be victory. It should be the dawn of a new age of peace and reconciliation. The Dendaril have fled in full retreat, the Winnowing Ague that has plagued the Kingdom of Abelia for centuries has been brought to an end, and Magister, Mighty One and Royal Knight have exchanged cordial words and bled in common cause for the first time since the Foundation Wars.

It is none of those things.

In ending the Ague, Amanda Devereux may have destroyed the Kingdom of Abelia. In repelling the Dendaril, the Free Tribes have been ripped apart, fully half their number lured into the service of an ancient, inscrutable Master. And concealed by it all, lurking unnoticed in the aftermath of war, a woman long-since discarded as worthless by the powerful wrestles to control a power none of them could possibly imagine. Some call it the Wild Burn. The Daxalai call it the heiran. But it falls to Delys Amaranth, the mute Swordmaster, to give it the only name that truly describes it.

The fire in the wind.

Stars of Destiny: Talismans

It’s been two months since the defeat of Vulturia and the Lords of Chaos. Cory has recovered from the injuries she sustained in the fight, but both she and Hatemi have decided that they’re done with being sehashi. Allan and Dionne find some papers hidden in the remains of Vulturia’s lair that might hold a clue as to what they’d been up to if only they could translate the writing. Then a new group of enemies shows up demanding that they hand over the scrolls in exchange for the safety of Elysium Valley. They don’t know what the worst part is. A new, stronger enemy? A team that’s short two of it’s members? Or is it that these enemies wear uniforms that look frighteningly familiar?

Stars of Destiny: Shards

After the defeat of Draco and the brief encounter with the mysterious red-haired woman, the sehashi gathered in Dionne’s basement to touch bases with each other. Not only did the two teams need to properly introduce themselves, but there was the matter of Knight’s team to deal with.

Now that the talismans had been revealed and the seal on the Ssu-Ling’s prison broken, they wondered what would happen now, if they would be seeing the Ssu-Ling.

Laira believed that they wouldn’t be as they would be weak from all their time trapped in their prison. She wanted them to focus on learning to use the talismans as weapons, thinking that it would only be a matter of time before they came under attack from that red-haired sehashi. Unlike the last two enemies they’d faced, this one they knew was here, and they knew she was coming. It was simply a matter of time.

The odious Jeanette Sobriquet is dead and her granddaughter, Fizzy, is too relieved to grieve. Unfortunately for her, when Fizzy announces her refusal to attend the abusive woman's funeral, her life becomes a living nightmare. Now, she has demons, ghosts, and the threat of homelessness hunting her down, all demanding she caves into the dead woman's iron will.

Bar owner, Affidious Dixon, is forced to carry out Fizzy's dead grandmother's last requests; otherwise, the ghost of the Bosnian war criminal that is following him around will murder his mother.

The Grimy & the Greedy is a comedic paranormal thriller about one woman's fight to save herself from tyrannical death customs and one man's journey to save his mother from pure evil.

Tranquila Obiit is smart enough to save a stranger’s life. But when Tran’s salty, daytime-television-addicted grandmother tricks her into selling her soul to Hades, dodging near-death experiences becomes a daily ritual.

Now, as an employee of the Underworld, Tranquila seeks out her purpose in life while pet-sitting a three-headed dog that is hell-bent on destroying her.

She’s not alone. None of the Gods are any better off: Hades is battling negative Hollywood stereotypes. Persephone is trying to overcome her jealousy issues. Most importantly, Hera is trying to gain control of a domain that isn’t hers. Will their insanity be Tranquila’s demise?

Girl: Repurposed is a refreshing satire on the American Dream that’ll keep readers laughing all the way to the Underworld.

"Vulgar Wisdoms" is Meaghan Curley's first collection of poems. With poems about rape culture in America, Black Lives Matters protests, competitve beer pong, and the morbid mysteries surrounding death, Curley's lyrical, sometimes biting and often political writings are reminiscent of Nicanor Parra's Anti-poems series. With poems titled "This Poem is Longer than Brock Turner's Prison Sentence", "Love, Thy Knave", "An Ode to Panhandlers" and "Species of Thief", you'll be remiss if you miss out on Curley's work. Meaghan Curley was born in Utica, New York where she worked a variety of low-paying jobs. She is an author of the books "Girl: Repurposed", and "the Grimy and the Greedy".

The 13th Zodiac is a High Fantasy, slow-burn romance with a hint of Anime. Originally, L. Krauch wrote it as a comic book in high school. Back then, it was merely pages drawn on computer paper to bring smiles to her audience of 13. The problem was, it had no plot. Now, 20 years, and three kids later, she sat down, gave that plotless comic a plot and turned it into a sprawling high fantasy novel. Her day job is sticking things to newborns, and by sticking things to newborns, she means hearing screens.

In her free time, she hangs out with her black cat, Luna, and keeps three small humans from killing each other. She and her husband have been happily married for 12 years and originally met in a MMO. To maintain her sanity, she now writes. And she may or may not have a thing for apples.

Something ancient pulls them together, a bond that neither can deny. Reluctantly at first, Jase joins Liya and the other Zodiac to end the threat of Soren Raion, the King of Chall.

Time is not on their side, and Fate has other plans.

"I enjoyed the fight scenes and the supernatural themes. Another interesting development was the relationship between two people who are supposed to be enemies: Liya and Jase. The ending was immensely satisfying and rewarding. The worldbuilding was also great, for example, the idea that man was made with soil from the Titan of Urth and breath from the Titan of Sky." - Reader's favorite

The first part of being smart is knowing you're not.

Most people assume that I'm slow. Some people are shocked that I'm smart enough to talk. I was emotionally delayed by 15 years. That diagnosis was based on a lack of empathy. For some reason I stopped maturing at 7. Luckily, I started again around 22 years old. Now that I'm 50, I have the mental age of a 35-year-old. It's no big deal now. But when I was 20, I had the mental age of a 7-year-old. It was a problem then.

In my book, Learning Empathy: The Memoirs of an Autistic Savant, these are my stories of how I learned empathy despite a life of institutional abuse. They say that Hard Lives Build Great Hearts and I am evidence that that is true.

Blood Pact (Youkai Bloodlines Book 2)

In Hiro’s world, youkai are a supernatural story used to scare children into obedience, and to keep men out of back alleys and brothels. Until Sakurai Hideyoshi walks through his door with a fantastical tale of a samurai who had killed a thousand men and drank the blood of his enemies, a man that lived in darkness but sought beauty to keep it at bay.

A story both terrifying and romantic…and completely ridiculous.

Unless it is true.

Convinced something softer lurks behind Hideyoshi’s hard mask, Hiro follows him home. And discovers the story is real.

Only instead of the blood of his enemies, it is innocent blood taken.

Hideyoshi tells him never to return. Yet after Hiro’s mother is mortally wounded, Hiro runs back to the one being he knows with the power to save her. When Hideyoshi can’t, Hiro begs him for the next best thing: the power to avenge her.

As Hiro becomes youkai, he faces a new threat, something darker, older, and far more dangerous. With Hideyoshi at his side, Hiro must decide what he’s willing to sacrifice--and what he’s willing to do--to protect this new life before he loses everything for a second time.

Fanny B. Mine

My secondary school was right beside Hampstead Heath in North London. When my English teacher started teaching us about Keats, I would stare out the window and imagine him wandering around the Heath writing poems. It made me feel reassured by who I wanted to be – a poet, a thinker, someone who loved words. It made me feel more normal in this state school in the middle of London, where in sixth form, people would laugh at me in English when I answered questions!

I found a lot of comfort in Keat’s words, especially his neuroses and his fears, the fact that he wasn’t sure about his own abilities, as well as his love for nature and his talent for turning ideas on their heads with his uncertainty. What also struck me when reading his letters though was his jealousy concerning his love, Fanny Brawne. His lack of confidence sometimes made him mean in his letters. I sometimes wondered what would have happened if they had met in modern times – whether Fanny would have grown tired of the jealousy. What would have happened if Keats hadn’t died so young? In a later letter, Fanny even mentions that perhaps she ‘overrated’ Keats in her younger life.

This collection is the result of these musings…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – except for Harold Trapp. With sales numbers plummeting, he and his company rush plans to create the perfect Christmas gift: the Hans and Heidi dolls. But with a tight deadline hanging over their heads, stress is a frequent visitor. As are the two cats that mysteriously appear on his doorstep. But there’s something sinister hiding behind their sweet and furry demeanor. And the town of Oakridge comes to know it well. When the Christmas lights shine and the snow falls heavy, something awakens. Something dark and ancient. Cold. And with it, unspeakable terrors are born. From legends of old black trains to holiday satyrs and straw goats of yore, the winter wind lurks in the deepest of shadows. Hungry for flesh. Waiting for the darkness to return. The spirit of the season is far more than Harold Trapp bargained for.

Into the Uncanny: 12 Tales of Terror

In every corner, something dark and unsettling lurks in the shadows. Waiting. From mysterious murderers to ancient forest spirits, the world of horror never strays far from home. Dorian J. Sinnott brings the shadows and what hides within closer in 12 original chilling tales. Open up, turn the page, and take a step into the darkness, into the unknown, and into the uncanny.

Watercolors: A Selection of Poetry

A hand-selected anthology of 15 favorite poems from author Dorian J. Sinnott's collection over the last decade. This selection includes: Greed, Bereavement of Winter, Frost, Winter Born, Wolf and Lamb, His Muse, Amnesiac, Ghost in the Machine (Flowers for the Dead Man), Calypso, Marionette, Interstellar, The Astronomer, Sunsets, Burying the Ghost, Symposium, Star-Crossed, White Memory, and Moonbeams.

Adam Gaffen

Hi! Thanks for dropping by!

Sorry about the mess.

So, I suppose I should start with some basics, eh?

I was born in Maine, didn't live there for long before my parents figured out that it was too bloody cold and moved south, all the way to Massachusetts. Grew up there and in Connecticut, lived in Maryland and Indiana for a while before moving back to Maine. Lived there for twenty years before I, too, decided the winters were too long. Of course, where do you to get away from long winters? COLORADO! Naturally. Married to a wonderful, inspirational, supportive woman; between us we have five kids, five dogs, and five cats.

Every author starts as a reader, and the same is true for me. Some of first 'real' books I remember are the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, the Hornblower books by C.S.Forester, and Lad by Albert Payson Terhune. The, ah, let's just say 'eclectic' nature of these first few began a trend that continues today, as I read just about anything. You want a list? Okay. In no order (except as they occur to me):

Robert Heinlein. Dave Barry. Lisa Mantchev. John Ringo. David Weber. Isaac Asimov (yes, still). David R. Palmer. Spider Robinson. Randall Garrett. Richelle Mead. F.M. Busby. Frank Herbert. Kevin J. Anderson. W.E.B. Griffin. Clive Cussler. Gemma Halliday.

Is the picture coming into focus? No? Exactly. There's way too many authors out there to limit myself to a single one, or even a single genre, though I do tend to return to science fiction.

Like I said, thanks for dropping in! You can find me on Allauthor.com, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and on my website www.cassidychronicles.com. I love interacting with fans, but be warned: I often add my fans into my books!

Books include:

Welcome to the Cassidyverse, the wider world of the Cassidy Chronicles, where life will take you in unexpected directions.

Kendra Cassidy’s dream was to drag humanity to the stars. Along the way she invested her fortune, her sweat, and her blood to make the Terran Federation real. But she wasn’t the only one; her crew struggled alongside her to bring it to life. These are their stories:

In “Recruiting Kendra, “ a younger Kendra learns first-hand what it takes to turn an actress into an assassin.

In “A Dream Made Flesh,” Diana, an AI and a leader of the Federation, wonders what it might be like to be human.

In “When ‘cats Fly,” Daniela is challenged to solve the problem of making a space fighter suitable for cat-sized sentients.

In “Murder on the Missouri,” a cadet is murdered, Alyssa calls in the only human who can solve the case.

In “Hell Hath No Fury,” A jealous, vengeful Admiral discovers that Ashley is the wrong Captain to exile to the frontier.

In “The Martian Gambit,” Mikall and the crew of the TFS Nike face a last-gasp attempt to overthrow the Terran Federation.

And in “Thrown For A Loop,” a story that spans centuries, Kendra and her wife, Aiyana, confront a threat to all of space and time.

In all, eleven tales of bravery, love, creativity, and…staplers?

Come see for yourself!

The year 2113 is a post-modern America, after decades of warfare and the near collapse of civilisation, America is shattered into a dozen nations. Aiyana Cassidy is a genius physicist who has stumbled upon a technology that will revolutionize the world. She makes contact with her old high school friend Kendra Foster-Briggs, who is an employee of a shadowy organization called OutLook. Cassidy's experiments at Heavy Lift Corporation (HLC) into teleportation cause many different players to begin tracking her down. Kendra and Cassidy set of on a cross-continental journey to find some answers.

In this steampunk novel, their travels take them on a continent spanning adventure as we are introduced to a world of advanced technology, strange and unfamiliar landscapes and new discoveries.

It's about Black life, an appreciation of it, and our power to transform it. The Truth About Change and Awakening: A Memoir

With wisdom and humor, Rachael DK invites us into her world as a writer and survivor, examining the truths and fictions we tell ourselves and others as we teeter on the tightrope between meaning and mortality, guilt and redemption, fear and courage, hope and change. The emotional and physical pains she journaled throughout her life are ultimately revealed to the reader. Her memoir offers a deeply personal yet universal tour of our hearts and minds and providing the rarest of gifts: a boldly revealing portrait of what it means to be human. So many of the author's struggles as a two time suicide attempt survivor, breast cancer survivor, chronic illness sufferer—though rare when combined, are a reflection that helps readers see things in a new light, and rediscover simple pleasures and everyday joy. Erik S. Meyers

Originally from Connecticut, I am an American abroad who has lived or worked in six countries on three continents, currently living in Germany.

With over 20 years of award-winning experience as a communications expert, I value the importance of a good story that can easily be understood, digested, and enjoyed.

The author of a self-published business book "The Accidental Change Agent" and an award-winning adult LGBTQ Jewish historical fiction novel "Caged Time," I also have written several short stories and am currently reworking a thriller/horror script.

Books:

In 1930s New York, David Tarniss leads a quiet life as a cab driver—too quiet—In reality he is hiding a dark secret, his homosexuality, something for which he will pay dearly due to the unique circumstances of the time.

A fascinating, if disturbing, story about the challenges that confronted gays (and Jews) in 1930s New York.

The Accidental Change Agent: A Fresh Take on Organizational Change

Erik Meyers advocates that managers who desire to create real change in an organization focus on the human side of leadership, be open to trying new methods of communication, and lead the way along the new path. The Accidental Change Agent draws upon Meyers' 25 years of expertise in a variety of corporate roles. He observes that many companies want change, but aren’t actually willing to change to get there. Meyers asserts that innovation cannot be mandated. It often involves painful, yet needed, change in the organization, in the leadership methods, and also in the corporate culture.

Barry Ryerson

Barry started his career in music technology; using computers to compose music, edit sounds, and mix recordings. After several years of teaching courses from Level 2 diplomas to full degrees, his health took a tumble, and he had to give up teaching. This meant, though, that he had time to write, something he has taken to with passion. He still can't quite believe he's an author.

He has done a wide variety of random things in his life so far (he has a pilot's licence, performed for 1,500 people at Disneyland Paris, and, technically, is also a ninja) and he sincerely hopes this never stops.

"I loved this book! A wonderful and engaging page turner aimed at children/young teens that is full of great characters and imagery but also contains lots of important and positive messages!" - Owen Hollifield

Hew had always dreamt of being a knight. Take that, villain! Yes, princess, of course I'll rescue you. Thank you, your Majesty, yes I am great with a sword. Unfortunately, being a farmer's son made that dream impossible. Real life was more about cleaning animal mess and checking for weeds.

Until he met the dragon.

It opened up a hidden world of magic around him. Faeries. Hobgoblins. Monsters, shape changers, brownies; you name them, he met them.

But there was a problem.

A blight to the north was making magic fade from the Earth. If it disappeared completely, then everyone would freeze to death.

Yes, that included Hew's annoying little sister, but even she didn’t deserve to be frozen. He would have to be brave and defeat this blight. The question was…

What could a nearly eleven-year-old do?

Cardinal Virtues (War of the Submarine Book 1)

2037: Underwater exploitation has changed the world. Every nation wants territory, and the race for resources on the ocean floor is on.

Commander Alex Coleman thought his career was over when he got sent to Armistice Station, an underwater megastation where you can buy everything except success in the U.S. Navy. Here, he waits for retirement, doling out sodas and supplies while keeping an eye out for and unruly sailors—hardly the things the Navy sends you to do when you’re a submariner on the fast track.

But things aren’t quiet in this underwater amusement park. French marines arrive with Indian Navy support. Both nations want the United States out of the Indian Ocean, and Alex, along with his eclectic band of castoff sailors, is the only one standing in their way.

Alex sure as hell doesn’t want to be a hero—because heroes don't explode coffee creamer fireballs or hijack cruise ships—but the shooting’s started, and he’s got a job to do.

Meanwhile, an American carrier strike group steams though the Straits of Malacca. Commander Nancy Coleman’s USS Fletcher (DDG 155) is on point, keeping an eye out for Chinese submarines that might stop her ships from arriving in time to aide Taiwan.

Cardinal Virtues is first book in the series War of the Submarine, also published as Season 1 of the War of the Submarine serial on Kindle Vella.

"An extravagantly imagined and beautifully written Holmes story” Lee Child

When the papal apartments are burgled in 1901, Sherlock Holmes is summoned to Rome by Pope Leo XII. After learning from the pontiff that several priceless cameos that could prove compromising to the church, and perhaps determine the future of the newly unified Italy, have been stolen, Holmes is asked to recover them. In a parallel story, Michelangelo, the toast of Rome in 1501 after the unveiling of his Pieta, is commissioned by Pope Alexander VI, the last of the Borgia pontiffs, with creating the cameos that will bedevil Holmes and the papacy four centuries later. For fans of Conan Doyle's immortal detective, the game is always afoot. However, the great detective has never encountered an adversary quite like the one with whom he crosses swords in "The Vatican Cameos.."

January 1888: Dr. John H. Watson has returned to 221b Baker Street, just weeks after a personal tragedy has left him bereaved and bereft. Feeling like a broken man, his plans and dreams lying in ruin, he slowly tries to make his way forward, with the help of Sherlock Holmes and Mrs. Hudson. Unexpectedly, he finds himself standing in the path of a madman - who suddenly and irrationally blames Watson for his apparent defeat.

Meanwhile, Holmes has tried to distract his grief-stricken friend by telling stories of his past cases, including how, a decade before, he recovered a mysterious relic - The Eye of Heka - stolen from the British Museum. But Holmes's plan to show Watson this unique and ancient idol goes suddenly and terribly wrong as both are swept into a series of events, one tumbling rapidly upon another, that lead to thefts, murders, and possibly a war that might quickly escalate to draw in nations from most of the world. And always there is the madman in the shadows - waiting for his next chance to attack . . . .

From The Notebooks of Dr. John H. Watson comes another story by Sherlockian David Marcum, author of over eighty traditional Holmes pastiches, including those collected in The Papers of Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes and A Quantity of Debt, and Sherlock Holmes - Tangled Skeins.

Join us as we return to Baker Street and discover more authentic adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the man described by the estimable Dr. Watson as "the best and wisest . . . whom I have ever known."

The game is afoot!

The Magus were the protectors of magic, armed with a magic caster's power and a warrior's strength. They were able to summon magical weapons from specialized caches they wore as armored pauldrons known as the Armory of Attlain. The Magus were legendary among the people of Attlain until a few decided they should lead the people instead of protecting them. The rebellion ended quickly from within their ranks, but the damage was done. The Magus were feared and outlawed except for those few who remained loyal to the crown and lived as adventurers. For generations, they had all but disappeared from the world. Marcus Gideon awoke at the crossroads outside the border town of Armändis. Lost, with no memory of his past life, he was stabbed through the heart and left for dead. His life was saved by a blacksmith's kindness who replaced his damaged heart with a mechanical, magical miracle-a clockwork heart. The gears clicked, the motor spun, and his heart started beating again, powered by his own magical energy. Gideon was alive, but his savior was no ordinary blacksmith. Henry Botàn was a Magus, hiding out in Armändis to protect the weapons within his magical armory. The swords, spears, and other-worldly artifacts were potent, some cursed and even forbidden to wield. His responsibility was to protect these weapons from falling into the wrong hands, but he was old and past his prime. He needed an apprentice, and Marcus Gideon may be the one he waited for. As Gideon searches for clues to his past, he looks toward his future and his fate in Attlain as THE LAST MAGUS.

TAKE AN ADVENTURE THROUGH TIME! Stephanie Drake and her three children were glad to be alive after a sudden storm slammed their boat onto an uncharted island, but it's not where they think. They found themselves in another world, frozen in time. For more than 3,000 years, the magical island of Avalon remained hidden from the outside world. It was a place of eternal magic, where the descendants of King Arthur ruled over a land filled with magical creatures, wizards, Elves, Dwarves and dragons. On Avalon, Stephanie and her children were being hunted by bounty hunters, thieves and brigands. They found themselves caught in a power struggle between Lord Kraven Darkholm, a powerful wizard descended from the sorceress Morgana le Fay, and Lord Bryan MoonDrake, the Gil-Gamesh of Avalon.

The people of this magical isle have been protected for centuries by the Gil-Gamesh, a descendant of Sir Percival Peredyr, the last Knight of the Round Table. But who is Lord MoonDrake and how does he know so much about Stephanie and her children? Now, it's a race against time as the Gil-Gamesh must protect these Outlanders—as they are called—and get them home to the outside world. All the while, Kraven Darkholm continued his schemes against the people of Avalon, vying to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming ruler of this enchanted island.

I’m a guy who likes a good story, so I thought I might write a few

Hello all, I’m your typical nerd, IT work, polyglot, Fantasy Romance, loving guy. You know the usual stuff. So most of the time, I just write from what I know. I try to tackle or highlight many different issues and types of people while twisting the stereotypes of fantasy races. We have fun here.

Another Day in Paradise (Tails from Paradise)

A warm-hearted, autobiographical story told by an author who really knows her subject, the location and the lifestyle in a small village in the Algarve, as seen through the eyes of a British couple, who made the move seeking a quieter, more serene way of life. What lurks in the shadows of paradise, however, is a life-changing illness she has struggled with in the past and now comes to the fore. They have made Portugal their home.

Will they be able to navigate the health system and succeed in getting her the urgent operation needed, to prevent her from spending the rest of her life in a wheelchair? This adds tension to an otherwise gentle, amusing, highly descriptive story, filled with wonderful observations, funny clashes of culture and an entertaining learning curve for all concerned. The dialogue is so authentic, you can hear their voices. The characters appear real and 3-dimensional and the supporting cast of cats and dogs at times threaten to steal the show. This is a fulfilling and satisfying read, uplifting, positive and makes you long for a sequel.

Our Little Piece of Paradise: 2 (Tails from Paradise)

When a young British couple, Karen and Nick first took a holiday in the Algarve in Portugal, little did they know that 35 years on they would find themselves permanent residents and much-loved members of the local community, well-known for rescuing and housing stray animals, working alongside the local vet and even helping the local fire brigade!

J. D. Cunegan

Notna (contemporary fantasy, a la Buffy and Supernatural)

History's most peaceful race created one of its deadliest weapons.

Forged in the Living Flame by a long-extinct alien race, The Gem of Notna is the stuff of legends, on par with Pandora's Box or the Holy Grail. But once archaeologist Dr. Jack Corbett stumbled upon the crystal deep in the Amazon, he triggered a whirlwind of events and found himself neck-deep in a centuries-old holy war. The Divine and the Underworld have been locked in a virtual stalemate for the past three hundred years, and the Gem of Notna could be the key to breaking it.

With the gem in his possession, Jack discovers a world of monsters and gods, as well as an entirely different plane of existence that watches over our own. Old grudges resurface, fallen warriors are reborn in the most violent of ways, but at the end of the day, the fate of the world may well rest in Jack's hands.

J.D. Cunegan (Bounty, Blood Ties) introduces Notna, a supernatural fantasy epic that will leave readers flipping through the pages with every twist and turn. Grand in scale and steeped in the very comic book lore that lured Cunegan to writing in the first place, Notna proves that anyone can save the world - or die trying.

Bounty (Jill Andersen Series Book 1) (police procedural/superhero tale with sci-fi elements)

Can Jill solve the case while still keeping her secret? Will her partners at the Seventh Precinct find out what she's so desperate to hide? What was Dr. Roberts looking into that led to his murder? And perhaps the biggest question of all...

Who is Bounty?

Beth always daydreamed of being popular. Of living a life filled with fun, travel, and adventure. A life without rules or expectations. A life worthy of sharing online. These hopes and aspirations were nothing more than distant dreams until a chance encounter with a young drifter.

Beautiful, outgoing, and brimming with confidence, River is everything Beth wishes she could be. She introduces Beth to her tight-knit family of misfits and vagabonds; Zac, the strong, watchful protector; Cash, a charismatic con man always ready with a witty remark; Finn, feral is the word the others used to describe him. His disdain for outsiders is a barrier for most; and Teague, thoughtful and calm with his funny Cajun accent, he is the light against Finn’s darkness.

Enthralled by their stories of adventure and travel, when they invite Beth to come along, she jumps at the chance.

They show her a world of hidden beauty, petty theft, cheap whiskey and limitless freedom. A world where the next grand adventure is only a train hop away. A world without safety, where darkness roams freely, unrestrained by rules or authorities. When all hell breaks loose, Beth wonders if she made a horrible mistake. Who are these people? Was she really safe with them? Would she be willing to give up her budding online fame for safety?

Now a strange terror roams the sky at night, a dread horror lurks among the corn and a troubled widow gives birth to a boy who glows in the dark. Death on the streets and blood in the fields seed suspicion and division deep in the valley’s fertile soil as the town folk are terrorized season after season with the deadly visitations of a mysterious ancient hunter of human emotions.

Late in the twenty-second century, teams of Time Rangers travel back in history to capture Time Runners, renegade time travellers who endanger the future by changing the past. Kai Sawyer, son of a rear admiral who was a founding member of the Time Ranger unit, is a Spawn, a genetically enhanced human with powerful strength and abilities. But despite his advantages, he carries the burden of his father's cold and calculated plans for Kai's future.

As Kai rises through the ranks to become the Time Rangers' youngest commander ever, he must constantly prove himself to fend off perceptions, even from his own team, that nepotism is behind his meteoric rise. But when Kai and his team are sent to seventeenth-century France to capture a sadistic Time Runner altering the arc of medical advances, Kai finds his considerable strengths used against him. And he fears that he might be a pawn in a dark scheme concocted by mysterious forces even he can't defeat.

Like the rest of the body, it’s good to exercise the mind. Daily exercise, and meditation, has been shown to increase health, by decreasing stress, which allows the body (and mind) to naturally release endorphins, relax and heighten awareness. In this helpful book, Gabriel Constans leads the reader through fifty-two gentle and encouraging sessions planned to reconnect the body and soul. It takes courage and bravery, to honestly witness what we discover, inside and out, without turning away or getting caught in the content. It is a brave act to allow oneself to be still, if even for a moment, to look at one’s present experience, face the world and grow stronger.

Snapshots of the Apocalypse

Released January 7th 2022.

A proportion of royalties from this book go to Invest In ME Research. As of 13th Jan 2022, £24.85 has been raised.

In these dark, witty short stories, Katy Wimhurst creates off-kilter worlds which illuminate our own. Here, knitting might cancel Armageddon. A winged being yearns to be an archaeologist. Readers are sucked into a post-apocalyptic London where the different rains are named after former politicians. An enchanted garden grows in a rented flat. Magical realism meets dystopia, with a refreshing twist.

Advance Praise:

‘An iridescent, compelling collection. Darkly magical in all the right ways.’

- Irenosen Okojie, author of Nudibranch and Speak Gigantular

'Tales of the unexpected... a refreshing and humorous collection illuminating the author’s vast imagination and gift for merging people, place and politics in well crafted stories. Wimhurst’s cultural allusions and social commentary might make you laugh or glance sideways, but there are always sparks of human hope amongst the dystopian debris. One ticket here please, open return.'

- Emma Kittle-Pey, author of Gold Adornments and Fat Maggie.

‘These are fresh and exciting pieces, and I loved the sense of these unsettling off-kilter worlds, reminiscent of M John Harrison’s You Should Come With Me Now (Comma Press). I think readers will enjoy the author's skilful balance of wit and playfulness with dark and frightening things; magical realism with a melancholy and often chilling twist.’

- Anna Vaught, author of Saving Lucia and Famished.

'Katy Wimhurst finds hope in dystopias; colour in the bleakest of worlds. Her art is in combining charming whimsy with weighty social issues and, in the balance, delighting and surprising her reader. Her rich imagination and fresh, clean writing is, at all times, a pleasure.’

- Petra McQueen, founder of The Writers’ Company

‘Katy Wimhurst’s stories are enchanting. They appear beguilingly simple yet contain layers of meaning and mystery. Although often comical, each story has a hidden steel core – an environmental message that we need to cherish our planet and be compassionate to one another. She specialises in dystopias – in societies overwhelmed by the threats we fear – but even here the endings sound a positive note. We remain enchanted.’ - Dorothy Schwarz, author of Behind a Glass Wall and Simple Stories about Women.

A New Dark Age: A Reckoning - This is Rebel Fiction

When the collapsing began, in a system where scarcity was a commodity, there was always a need for the unemployed, the homeless and the hungry. When most people could no longer afford consumer goods, there were riots. The rulers called it an attack on democracy.

The riots were met with militarised, armoured police. With falling tax revenues companies took over financing the police, so the police increasingly functioned as capitalism’s own Praetorian Guard; sometimes supporting rival business leaders, sometimes bringing about their demise, and all the while living standards fell and the state started to crumble.

For Esme Sedgebrook, growing up in the provinces, there is no future other than an arranged marriage, motherhood, and domesticity, fleeing to join the uprising is as much about personal transformation as it is political.

Soulmate, Stage Right: Love Scenes, Book One

Drama teacher Abby Devlin has always dreamed of being a world-famous actress. While stardom has, so far, proven elusive, she has made quite a name for herself at McMillan Playhouse, where she’s just been cast in a self-written production. Her triumph quickly turns to dread, however, when she learns that McMillan has cast a soap star as her new leading man.

After a painful divorce, Dean Altman, former soap star and a single dad, readjusted his priorities, moving back home to Galveston, Texas with his young daughter, Preslie. It doesn’t take long for him to feel the itch to dust himself off and step back into the acting world, which brings him to McMillan’s stage…and Abby’s attention.

There is a fire between Abby and Dean when they meet in rehearsal, and not the good kind. Sizzling tension leads to drama both on and off-stage, but when they are forced to work together for the sake of the play, they slowly begin to give in to the undeniable chemistry between them. Before they truly have a chance to understand what they might have, however, an opportunity presents itself to Dean—one that could make or break what they have come to find in one another.

Soulmate, Stage Right is an enemies-to-lovers, single dad romance, with quick progression and high-stakes emotion. It will appeal to contemporary romance fans, as well as fans of Hallmark movies. It is low on the heat, but high on the sweet, and can best be described as a romantic dramedy.
