Top 5 Fantasy Books That I Want to Read Soon!

I love fantasy books. Fantasy is definitely my favourite genre and I am hoping to increase my reading for the rest of the year after having a reading slump so I thought I would list the top 5 fantasy books that I am aiming to pick up soon. Let me know if you have read any of these!

1.
Storm Glass Title: Storm Glass
Author: Maria V. Snyder
Publisher: HarperCollins
Publication Date: 2013
Book Depository

Synopsis:
This book follows Opal who is a student at the magic academy in Sitia. Opal isn't confident in her magic and doesn't seem to be able to create and control magic in the same way as the other students.

Opal is called to help the Stormdancer clan, individuals who bottle storms. They need Opal's skill to protect the people.

Opal discovers new magic but will she be able to control it?

My experiences:
Storm Glass is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Ixia series, the first book being Poison Study. I really enjoyed the original trilogy. This book is the first in the series to follow another character that we were introduced to in one of the previous books. I would definitely recommend reading the first three books before this one as I have recently started reading this and there are definitely links back to the previous books. The other books are also so good!

  1. I love The Bone Season and I can't wait for the fourth book to finally come out! It can be a bit difficult to get into but I think it is worth it!

I also have the Poison Study box set to read at some point. I'm not expecting big things from them as I don't always enjoy back list YA series now, but I hope they are at least likeable enough for me to read them all.

    2. I don't have the "Glass" series that's part of the Poison Study series. I have that initial trilogy and then Shadow, Night and Dawn Study, which are apparently set 6 years after the events of the previous three books.

    3. I was reading the whole series in order but actually that is a great point, I might try the next Study book. Yes I believe the next trilogy is set a few years after the first. I found Poison Study to be the best book that I have read from the series.
