Lucy Turns Pages: End of the Year Book Tag

End of the Year Book Tag

Time for a book tag! This one is the end of the year book tag and features questions reviewing my year and plans for the rest of the year. Original video for this tag.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I'm not sure if I started it this year but the one book that I have started and not DNFed is Jurassic Park. I'm not sure if I do want to go back to it yet but I did really like what I had read so far.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

This instantly makes me think of Harry Potter. I actually do need to keep going with my re-read of the series, with the illustrated version of Chamber of Secrets. I think I will pick that up soon!

Is there a new release you're still waiting for?

There is a recent release that I had been wanting to read; Tunnel of Bones. I enjoyed the first book and I wanted to find out what happened next. I am also still awaiting the sequel to Stealing Snow, a book that I read a few years ago. Stealing Snow is a retelling of The Snow Queen by Danielle Paige. It felt like a unique fantasy and I still think about it now. The sequel now has a release date and it is expected in 2020! I hope this book gets released soon.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I want to get through my review copies and perhaps some of the books on my shelves. If I were to choose my top three: A Darker Shade of Magic, A Study in Charlotte and maybe The Final Empire? (I've wanted to read this book for a while but it is big!).

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I feel like I haven't read many books that I have loved this year, and even less that have stuck with me. Really any book could surprise me and become a favourite, so we will see!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

I don't have any specific books that I am planning on reading. However, I would like to read more in general and more particularly, to read all or as many as possible of the books on my shelves. I would like to try more non-fiction, fantasy, sci-fi and middlegrade. I would also like to read more manga.

I tag: Ruby (Ruby's Books), Leisha (Literary Leisha), Brittany (Book Ramblings), Sam (Sleepy Sam Reads), Sarah (Raiin Monkey), Adele (Adele is Reading)

If you would like to do this tag, you are tagged!
