How I'm Reading More!

I love reading. Books are something that have become so important to me and so much part of my life. I tend to find reading difficult with my mental health, it can be hard to focus or even pick up a book. I go through a lot of reading slumps! But lately I have been reading more and I have surpassed my original Goodreads goal of 20 books! So I wanted to talk about what has been helping me to read more:

Audiobooks

Audiobooks are one of my absolute favourite things. I tend to use Audible because they have a wide selection and they often run deals, for example, cheaper monthly membership or cheaper extra credits. Audible works as a monthly subscription where each credit you get equals a book. You also have the option to return a book for a refund for any reason so if you really don't like an audiobook you have that option. Just a note that authors do lose royalty payments if you return a book.

Crown of Midnight: A Throne of Glass Novel, sarah j maas, how to read more, audiobooks, audible, manga, reading, books, read more, audiobook recommendations, good audiobooks, Here are some books that I have loved on audio:
The Bear and the Nightingale
Skyward
Jurassic Park
Throne of Glass
Crown of Midnight

If you don't regularly use Audible, I would really implore you to give it a go if you can. I listen to audiobooks when I'm doing other things like playing Animal Crossing, tidying up or just scrolling online. It can be such an easy way of reading a book and before you know it, another book is read!

Manga

Another one of my absolute favourite things is manga. Manga is great. The artwork is beautiful and it can be so much quicker to read if you find the right one. I've recently been reading the Parasyte series and I sped through it. If you read manga, please leave your recommendations in the comments below because I am always looking out for new ones!

Picking up books

The last thing that helps me is to pick up a new book pretty soon after finishing a book. I typically do this on the same day because if I don't, it is harder for me to pick up another book. I usually find it difficult to choose my next read so by picking up at least one of the books my mind is leaning towards, I can read a bit of that book and try it and if I don't feel like reading it, I can pick up another until I find one that I would to read at that time.

So those are three things that have been helping me to read more lately. What helps you to read?

  1. I'm always guilty of forgetting about audio books but they'd make my life so much easier!! I agree that picking up a book straight away helps!
