The Mini Ultimate Colour Combination colouring book review

This book was gifted to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The Mini Ultimate Colour Combination is such a fun and inspiring little colouring book, bursting with creativity! One of the most exciting things about it is the huge variety of colour palettes included throughout. There are so many different combinations to try—whether you're into soft pastels, bold brights, or earthy tones, there's something here for every mood and style.

Each section includes palettes with 3, 4, 5, and even 6 colours, giving you tons of options to explore. It’s a brilliant way to challenge yourself creatively, add something fresh and interesting to your colouring routine, or simply dive straight into colouring without having to spend time figuring out what colours to use. It takes the guesswork out and adds the fun back in.

The designs themselves are simple yet stylish—just right for experimenting with new colour blends. Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced colourist, this book is a fantastic tool for play and inspiration. I love how quick and satisfying it is to finish a full page using a new palette—it’s a great creative boost, especially when I’m feeling a little stuck.

Overall, The Mini Ultimate Colour Combination is not just cute—it’s incredibly practical, too. Whether you want to build colour confidence, experiment with new styles, or just enjoy quick, joyful colouring moments, this book is a total gem.

Hygge Patterns Colouring Book Review

This book was gifted to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Hygge Patterns by Sui Sui is a wonderfully calming and heartwarming colouring book that perfectly captures the essence of hygge—that cozy, contented feeling of comfort and warmth. If you're someone who enjoys curling up with a hot drink, soft lighting, and some quiet time to yourself, this book is the perfect companion.

The illustrations are beautifully designed, with a mix of repeating patterns, gentle organic shapes, and cozy homey scenes. There's a softness and flow to the artwork that makes each page feel like a breath of fresh air.

One of the things I really love about this book is how flexible it is—you can either take your time carefully blending shades and filling in all the little details, or just loosely colour with your favorite tones and still end up with a beautiful result. There’s no pressure here, just calm and creative joy.

Sui Sui has done a lovely job of creating a book that feels not just like an art activity, but a little ritual of self-care. I find myself reaching for Hygge Patterns when I need to unwind and slow down—it’s like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket made of line art.

If you love slow living, mindful colouring, or just want a beautiful book that will help you relax and recharge, I highly recommend Hygge Patterns. It’s one of those books you’ll come back to again and again, especially on rainy days or quiet evenings.

Detectives Mini & Kozy Colouring Book Review

This book was gifted to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Detectives Mini & Kozy is a cute and funny colouring book that puts a delightful twist on classic detective and crime scene themes. The illustrations are filled with charm and humor—Mini and Kozy, the adorable detective duo, find themselves in all sorts of silly, mysterious, and unexpected situations.

One of my favorite things about this book is how much variety there is. There are so many pages to choose from, each one totally unique, so it never feels repetitive. I can sit down and colour a couple of scenes when I’m in the mood, and each time it lifts my spirits. The pictures have just the right balance of detail—not too simple, but not so complex that it becomes stressful.

The style is playful and expressive, and you can tell the artist had a lot of fun creating the characters and scenarios. There are clever little details hidden throughout the pages, which makes colouring even more enjoyable. It’s like you're joining Mini & Kozy on their little adventures as you bring each scene to life with colour.

Overall, I highly recommend Detectives Mini & Kozy if you’re looking for a lighthearted, feel-good colouring experience. It’s perfect for unwinding, getting a giggle, and spending some cozy creative time. If you love cute characters, gentle comedy, and mystery with a twist, this book is an absolute treat!

Doggo Moments Colouring Book Review

This book was gifted to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

As a dog lover, I was so excited when I saw Doggo Moments announced! There are a lot of cat colouring books out there but not many dog ones. I adore cute cozy colouring and this book is filled with funny cute pictures with dogs!!

Each page feels unique, creating a story and making me smile with the comedy of each scene. I colour the dog first and then fill in the rest of the scene!

The illustrations are super detailed without being overwhelming, which makes it perfect for relaxing after a long day. You can tell the artist really understands dog personalities—each pup has so much character.

If you love dogs and want something lighthearted and feel-good to colour, Doggo Moments is a must-have. It’s not just a colouring book—it’s like a little celebration of everything we love about dogs. I hope they make a second volume! 🐾

Friendships Colouring Book Review

This book was gifted to me in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Friendships by Belly Bean Co. is the latest colouring book featuring adorable animals dressed in clothes, depicted in a variety of friendship-themed scenes. If you're a fan of the show Friends, you’ll spot several familiar scenarios — I had a great time colouring these while rewatching the series, and I highly recommend it as a companion activity!

The book also includes a wide range of other fun illustrations, such as animals at a barbecue, in a car, playing snooker, and enjoying a day at the park. If you enjoy colouring different types of scenes, this book offers great variety.

The animal characters change throughout, which keeps things fresh, and the level of detail varies across pages — some are more intricate, while others are simpler, making it easy to pick a page based on how much time or energy you have. The book itself is high quality: with a sheet of paper behind the page, I experienced no bleed-through from my markers. With so many pages included, I know this will keep me happily colouring for quite some time.

Snuggly Friends Best Moments is the latest installment in Nina Luma's Snuggly Friends colouring book series. Each page features animals in cute scenarios, including skydiving, swimming, skiing, dancing and just having fun and relaxing.

This colouring book has a lot of pages to colour (I believe there are 42 in total)! I love how there are so many different backgrounds and situations which allows me to test different colours, patterns and effects. The pictures are adorable and fun and just very calming to colour. I also like how there are different animals in each picture and the number varies, allowing for more simple colouring when I feel like it.

The Fast Little Fox is an adorable children's book filled with cute and humorous pictures. We follow Freddy Fox who runs so quickly, he makes mistakes. He makes a friend who helps him learn and he makes up for his actions.

I thought that this was a wonderful children's book. It teaches lessons whilst also improving vocabulary. There are various animal characters for the children to learn about, each of their names beginning with the letter of what animal they are which can help to build associations for children.

This book is a great length for a story time tale and I can't wait to see the rest of the books that Jill Horton creates. I highly recommend this book if you have children or work with them!

My rating: 5/5 stars

Book Review: Shadowless by Randall McNally

Title: Shadowless
Author: Randall McNally
Genre: YA Fantasy

In Shadowless, there are children of deities. These children do not have shadows and become engaged in a battle to survive. We follow different perspectives as we discover this world and the dark motives of the deities.

This book has an amazing premise which I love. It had so many unique plot points which I feel would be great in a video game or even movie franchise. The end of the prologue instantly piqued my interest. There was a lot of description in this book, which was well done and if you like adult fantasy books, I think you would enjoy this read.

This book was really intriguing and well written but I do wish that there had been more of a goal to catapult the action for me personally.

However, this book felt very reminiscent of some popular adult fantasy books and I believe there is a great audience for this out there who just need to discover this book!

In this book we follow Snowy, a dwarf on a somewhat personal development journey.

This was a really cute children's book that had some important lessons inside and showed great characteristics to teach children. I feel like this would be a great book to read to a child.

Book Review: Childish Spirits by Rob Keeley

Title: Childish Spirits
Author: Rob Keeley
Genre: Middle Grade Mystery

This book follows two children who move into an old house and spooky things begin to happen which leads to the children meeting spirits and trying to solve a mystery.

Our two main characters, Ellie and Charlie, or 'Chas' were introduced well from the beginning, with personality and their own individual characteristics which made me more invested in what was going to happen to them.

The build-up and foreshadowing were excellently implemented and it made me keen to read on and find out what exactly was going to happen and what the cause of the strange occurrences was.

I do feel like I would have liked more information about the family's background in the first few chapters so I could see where they had come from and why they had moved to this place.

The sense of foreboding increased chapter by chapter as we found out more about a spirit living in the house. It was quite dark in places, with mentions of child death.

I also found the children's relationship with their dad a bit strange with conversations between them not feeling fully realistic.

One of the spirits was actually quite creepy and this added to the dark atmosphere of the book. I enjoyed seeing Ellie and Charlie questioning the situation and delving more into the mystery and I wanted to know what had happened.

If you are looking for a quick contemporary mystery with spirits and that also deals with family relationships, I would recommend checking this book out.
