Get Your Game On

This year is set to be massive when it comes to gaming. Year on year we are seeing incredible advancements in the gaming industry and finding some surprising trends breaking through.

The past few years has seen an explosion in online gambling from Bingo to new slots cropping up on various established websites. But whether you’re dedicated to your Xbox One or a die hard PS4 gamer, one thing’s for sure the sheer volume of choice when it comes to gaming is going to work in everyone’s favour.

Here are some top games for 2019 so far for the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Xbox

Pit People, now bear with this I know that this game is a little bizarre on the surface but when you dig a little deeper it becomes obvious pretty quickly that this is a strategy game up there with the best of them. Sure you’ll be using unicorn horns to hurt, maim and kill but it makes a change right?

This is actually a game that you can really lose yourself in, from a narrator who has dispensed with all claim to neutrality to brilliant sounds, if you’re looking for something a little different you can’t go wrong with this.

If you’re happier on more familiar territory then how about Overcooked 2? It’s fun, frantic and total mayhem. This time around you’ll be preparing sushi as well as the more standard fare and if you can’t stand the pace, you’ll need to get out of the kitchen!

PS4

If you love exploring dystopian worlds while completely tooled up and ready to take on literally anything, then you’re going to love Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This beautifully realized game brings everything you love from this genre and now provides a safe hub for players to rest and recuperate before heading back out.

Set to be released this year is Twin Mirror from Phil Horshaw. The game’s story is powerful and compelling and you’ll be sucked into finding out why your character has woken up covered in blood.

Nintendo Switch

Such an exciting year ahead for the Nintendo Switch, which has seen itself fast becoming a real contender with the big names in gaming. Check out Build A Bridge, a puzzle game that challenges you to build strong resilient bridges using realistic building materials and tools.

Or, if you’re looking for a little more excitement how about the stuff that nightmares are made from? In Bedtime Blues your beloved teddy bear has come to life and has become, well, pretty vicious actually. It’s down to you to figure out what’s happened and how your teddy can become more cuddly, less psychopathic.

Over the next twelve months there are going to be so many new games being released that it’s hard to keep tabs on. Check in regularly with your go-to gaming sites for all the latest news, tips and tricks and make sure that you don’t miss out on the latest action, puzzle and storyline blockbusters.
