Lucy Turns Pages: Life / Blog Update September 2019!

Life / Blog Update September 2019!

Hi everyone! I felt like I wanted to self-reflect and I have been wanting to write an updated life progress post so I thought that I would write it today.

So some of you may have noticed that I have been posting less frequently on my blog. I got to the point where I was spending so much time on my blog but I had so many other things to do and it just was not equal. So I took some time away from posting with the only posts that I published being blog tours and reviews for some of the books that I have been reading. I do want to post on a regular basis but to a lesser extent than I was before.

My reading is going pretty well! I credit this mostly to audiobooks. I have been listening to audiobooks most evenings after work. I tend to listen to them on 1.75-2x speed and with this it really doesn't take long to finish a book. So far this year, I feel that my most memorable books have been mangas. It's been a while since I read a book that continued to stick with me.

I am currently reading through my TBR but I also would like to read some new books (through the library and on Kindle). I want to get back into physical reading because I have been in such a reading slump for a long time. I am going to continue to push on and attempt to read more.

I am close to reaching my Goodreads goal which is amazing! I set it low but like I have said, it really doesn't matter how many books you read, just as long as you enjoy them.

Learning French

I've been trying to learn French for a while but recently I have decided to get more serious about my studying. I love French, it is a beautiful language and I would love to be able to speak it more than I already can. I am trying various resources to assist in my learning. I feel that if I put in the time and keep practising then I will reach my goal! My pronunciation so far is not the best but I am not going to give up.

I have been playing games occasionally and I am having a lot of fun. I have spoken about mental health on my blog previously and my current aim is to relax more. This includes gaming and reading and just generally spending my free time being more positive and relaxed. I am currently working on improving upon this so feel free to send me any tips that you have!

I started a new job and although it is exhausting, I love it and I am so glad that I made the move to change jobs. I have also been working on numerous things, including my TEFL qualification. I am so proud of my progress and I can't wait to learn more. I am hoping to do further qualifications in the future in relation to teaching.

I hope you are all well. Please let me know something that you are proud of in the comments below!
